Congratulations to Darrik and Marissa who were married this past weekend at Our Lady of Czestochowa with a reception following at The Wurlitzer Building, North Tonawanda, NY.  As the cold weather and rain were on the horizon, I began my day with the getting readies.  After what seemed like only minutes with each of them, we all made our way over to the Church for the Ceremony.    Even though it’s just down the road from where I live, this was my first time at Our Lady of Czestochowa.  It’s a beautiful place both inside and out.  In the middle of the ceremony, Marissa had to put the ring on Darrik’s finger, but I think someone forgot to warn him that when you’re nervous, your hands swell…. Oops.  After the lovely ceremony I tried to take formals and portraits outside, but we were driven in by the rain.  Marissa and Darrik were great, though, and didn’t complain at all.  We had several hours of planned creatives outside, down at Cobblestone and the Japanese Garden, so I’m very thankful everyone stayed positive.  I always say, “Rain is nothing to worry about… It’s just a different kind of opportunity.”  We eventually made our way to the North for the reception at The Wurlitzer Building.  This is a new venue to the Western NY area, and I was anxious to see what they had to offer.  First impressions were mixed, but in the end, it seems to be a good event space, and I’m sure the kinks just need to be worked out.  After hours of taking pictures, the whole bridal party was famished, so they stopped for pizza on the way.  I was a little dubious about Marissa eating pizza in a white dress…. But hey, it made for another photo opportunity for me!  Dinner and dancing followed.  I took my customary night shot and then said my goodbyes.  Thank you again to Darrik and Marissa for inviting me to be a part of your special day.  I wish you both all the best for the future!
