Oscar & Heather | Wedding Photography Becker Farms Gasport NY

Our 2016 wedding season has finally begun! We would like to congratulate Heather and Oscar Vizcarra, married at Becker Farms and Vizcarra Vineyards in Gasport, NY over the weekend. They not only braved the ups and downs of planning/executing a wedding, but also survived the bitter cold/wind/snow of a “Spring” day in Western NY! Oscar and Heather’s story began years ago while both attended Michigan State University. They met thru mutual friends, became instant companions and have made it through thick and thin to carve out a life with each other working the family farm. Becker Farms and Vizcarra Vineyards, owned and operated by    Oscar’s family, is a 5th Generation working fruit and vegetable farm. It has become a popular wedding and event destination for Couples and Families looking to visit the countryside, experience a little one-on-one with nature, all while enjoying locally grown and prepared cuisine, baked goods, wine and beer.

Our day on the Farm began with the Guys getting ready. It was a bit of a slow start, but with the injection of some biscuits, gravy and sausage, a fruit platter….oh and maybe a little nip of Jameson, things gradually progressed and everyone was dressed and ready to go……to the brewery. From there, we went over to spend some time with the Girls at the Becker Farmhouse, an 1830’s brick country house situated right across the street from the widely photographed Becker Barn. An abundance of windows afforded natural light from multiple angles, almost creating too many choices to choose from. We had planned on a First Look and creatives outside near the budding apple orchard, grape vines and petting zoo, but any hopes of that were dashed when we woke up that morning to 40deg. temps and 30mph winds! The settlement was for the first look to take place inside and wedding party formals inside the Becker Barn. As the day progressed, and the guests began to arrive (some not only from Out-of-State, but from as far away as Peru), the inevitable outdoor ceremony grew closer and closer. In what can only be described as nature doing its best to smile down on the happy couple, the sun poked out from behind the clouds for the entirety of the ceremony and throughout the family formals; truly wonderful and remarked upon by many of the grateful guests as they sat in attendance. As the evening progressed into night, the revelry commenced and the happy Couple was toasted with good fortune by friends and family. It was truly an honor and privilege for me to spend this wonderful day with Oscar and Heather and I wish them both the best of luck for the future!
