Congratulations to Rurik and Emilie who were married this past weekend at Ventosa Vineyards, Geneva, NY. It was a sweltering hot day as we began our getting ready with the Bride and Groom. I was reluctant to be outside too long before the ceremony due to the heat, but the entire wedding party were real troopers. The boys even made a quick pit-stop for ice cream! As the ceremony time quickly approached, we all made our way over to the Vineyards. The outdoor ceremony was lovely and simple, and even included one of Emilie’s bridesmaids singing. Some quick family formals and a few creatives and everyone made the mad dash for the air conditioned ballroom. The speeches from friends and family, especially Rurik’s son Grady, were wonderful. I really love to hear the crazy stories everyone comes up with, and it gives me more insight into my Couples. Dancing quickly ensued, but before I knew what was happening, everyone disappeared from the ballroom onto the terrace. I had no idea what was going on (why would you leave the nice cool air for muggy heat)? As soon as I walked outside to see what was up, I realized everyone was trying to get organized for large group photos in front of the vineyard (using cells phones). In a relatively small space, I did my best to squeeze generations of family and friends together to get some photos. After, I was able to steal the happy Couple away for some pics within the vineyard, and I capped the evening off with a trip to the wine cellar. All in all, a good day. Thank you again to Rurik and Emilie for inviting me to be a part of this special occasion. I wish you both the best for the future!
