Dan & Molly | Tonawanda Castle Wedding Photography

Congratulations to Dan and Molly who were married this past weekend at St. Patrick’s Church with a reception following at Tonawanda Castle, Tonawanda NY.  This was the second of three weddings we had for the Memorial Day weekend of 2019, and I’m so happy I was able to spend the day with this amazing Couple.  I met with Dan and Molly last year as they began their search for a wedding photographer.  In a happy coincidence, I had also booked Molly’s step-sister, Emma, for her wedding last year, but none of us made the connection till after they booked!  It was very nice to be able to meet some of the family and friends before the wedding day.

Leah and I began, as we always do, with the getting readies.  They were a bit far apart, so Leah covered the guys this time around, and I was able to spend the entire morning with Molly and the girls.  We all met up at the church for the ceremony, but first, we needed to make sure Molly got a first look with her dad.  I absolutely LOVE these moments and really feel the emotions along with my Couples.  After the ceremony, we snapped some quick family formals and then it was time for bridal party and creatives.  Dan and Molly had reserved the Kenan Center in Lockport.  This was to serve as our rain plan backup too, but the weather was so nice that we never made it inside.  Time was limited, but I did try to take advantage of every angle.  The gardens were just as beautiful as the house and I so wish I had more time there.  But, we also wanted to go to the Harbor area in Tonawanda.

This was going to be some one-on-one time with just Dan and Molly.  I cherish this with every Couple, because they get so little time alone together on their wedding days and I can see how overwhelming things get.  It gives them a moment to breath.  The green foot bridge has some cool angles I explored and the walkway underneath is the perfect spot to overlook the water in relative seclusion.  Funny to say, the Harbor wasn’t busy at all, which is unusual for a nice evening, but I guess everyone else was at BBQ’s.

Finally, we made our way to the reception at Tonawanda Castle.  I’ve been at this venue several times over the last couple years, and I really appreciate the space and variety of rooms it affords.  We arrived maybe 30min before the rain started, and had completed most of the photos for the day, but had the rain been all day long, we certainly could have spent the entire time exploring the Castle.  Dinner and dancing closed out our night.  Thank you again to Dan and Molly for inviting us to be a part of your special day.  Leah and I wish you both all the best for the future!
