Dan and Sam | The Woods at Bear Creek Wedding

Congratulations to Dan and Sam who married this past weekend at The Woods at Bear Creek, Franklinville, NY.  What a wonderful day we spent with this amazing Couple!  Dan and Sam are part of a group of friends that we’ve had the pleasure of working with for two years now, and everyone has been such a joy.  This particular day, Leah and I arrived for the getting readies at the cabins at Bear Creek.  The wedding party had booked out the whole circle, so we basically bounced back and forth between cabins as the preparations were under way.  Just as we were getting Sam into her dress, the sky opened up, and drenched everything.  It was short-lived, however, and just as quickly as it came, it was gone.  The only change in plans we needed to make were the First Look and bridal party photos.  We’d wanted to go into the woods for these shots, but it was simply too wet to get that muddy before the ceremony.

After a few hours of melting in the sun, I released everyone to prep for the ceremony.  I really need to thank the entire bridal party for being such troopers.  It was crazy humid after the rain, and not one of them complained or tried to bring the mood down for Dan and Sam.  This is a mark of true friends and it really makes our job much easier.

Early on in the day, after the rain fell, the decision was made to keep the ceremony outside, but limit the number of chairs in front of the gazebo due to the muddy grass.  Just a few friends and family sat down below, while most of the guests remained on the porch of the lodge overlooking the proceedings.  This was a great compromise and really didn’t take away from the feel of the event at all.

After cocktail hour, all the guests made their way to the reception hall on the other side of the property.  Dan and Sam made their entrance an homage to how they met working at Delta Sonic.  Dan riding a power wheels Jeep with Sam wearing a Delta Sonic tie.  Once dinner was over, tables need to be reset for dancing, so I took Dan and Sam for some quick sunset photos by the lake.  As always, I could have spent another hour taking photos with such great light, but I knew everyone was waiting to get their groove on.  Sam was particularly looking forward to her first dance with her dad, since they’d taken lessons and rehearsed just for this day.  Once the dance floor was opened, we made our usual rounds and awaited the sparkler send off, which was going to close out the night.  Thank you again to Dan and Sam for such a wonderful day.  It was a pleasure working with you both and we wish you all the best for the future!
