Congratulations to Alec and Michi who were married this past weekend at Our Lady of Victory/ St. Joseph church Rochester, NY with a reception following at Burgundy Basin.  Fall in Western NY has finally arrived and the cooler temps are here!  Leah and I spent a wonderful day with the happy Couple, starting with two quick getting readies in the morning, followed by mass.  The mass itself was given by Alec’s brother, Joseph, who was only recently ordained.  I found out later that Our Lady of Victory has been undergoing a restoration (in preparation for its 150th anniversary), and there was some doubt as to whether or not it’d be ready in time for the ceremony.  Well, it looked magnificent to me, and I saw no signs of all the hard work I know must have gone into making it look just right for this special day.  Michi and Alec also rented out nearby St. Joseph’s Park for a couple hours.  This historic building is great for creatives in the Rochester area and I’m pleased with how well it’s being maintained.  In just the last two years since I started going there, I really notice the difference.  After a couple of hours, we moved everything over to Burgundy Basin for the reception.  I took a few minutes of cocktail hour to do “sunset photos” with Michi and Alec, and I’m so glad I did, because when real sunset came around the clouds had rolled in and all the magic was gone.  The rest of our night went by effortlessly.  There were a lot of young children at this particular wedding.  They provided an endless source of entertainment on the dance floor.  After watching their antics for a few hours, I was tired, so I can imagine they all slept well that evening!  Thank you again to Alec and Michi for allowing us to share this special day with you.  We wish you all the best for the future!
