Congratulations to Ryan and Meghan who celebrated their Rustic Barn wedding this past weekend outside Utica, NY.  What a wonderful late-summer day it turned out to be, with a bit of chill in the air and hints of fall all around.  I began my day with both getting readies in the old farmhouse adjacent to the barn.  While both were getting ready in the same location (different floors), one thing that was very important is that they didn’t see each other before the ceremony.  So, instead of a “First Look,” I had them holding hands around a corner of a shed.  It turned into a great moment as the anticipation of seeing each other grew and it became more and more difficult for them to stay on their sides of the shed.  I finally intervened as I thought at one point Ryan might just lose his willpower and sneak a peak.  After a lovely, intimate ceremony, we did family formals and moved on to some bridal party photos and creatives.  The chill in the air persisted, but frequent appearances from the sun really helped keep everyone semi warm.  We took full advantage of the gigantic chess board and playground provided by the venue.  I have to say, I love small bridal parties.  With only four people, there was no stress and we all were relaxed and had fun.  The venue also had a large tree swing, and as the sun began to get lower in the sky and filter through the trees, this area made for an idyllic setting.  Dinner and dancing were next on the schedule.  The newly renovated barn was painstakingly decorated by Ryan and Meghan’s team of family and friends.  They did a great job and everywhere I looked there was some new details to discover.  It really was a magical day.  Thank you again to Ryan and Meghan for inviting me to be a part of your special day.  I wish you both all the best for the future!
