Congratulations to Geoff and Lauren who were married this past weekend at The Roycroft Inn, East Aurora, NY. I’ve spent the last year or so getting to know these two wonderful people, via Skype and email, as they both live and work in Poland. Like so many of my out-of-town Clients, family and friends here in the Western, NY area eventually bring them back home, and I feel very blessed to be able to get to know such a diverse group. Their story began while both were working for the same company in Boston, where Lauren would draw doodles while pretending to look busy so that Geoff, who sat behind her, would be impressed by her hard work and focus. To Lauren’s dismay, Geoff was not fooled, but enjoyed her designs and used them to initiate witty banter that would eventually lead to a first date, trips to Europe, and an engagement at the Taj Mahal. Their adventure continues as they enjoy living in Krakow, seeing the world, and trying to learn Polish in between shots of vodka (just kidding… about the Polish). It was a great autumn day as I began with Lauren’s getting ready at the family home, before meeting Geoff and his family at The Roycroft. After everyone was ready, we all packed into cars and drove the short distance to Knox Farm for a First Look, family formals and creatives. I tried to maximize our short time here as much as possible, and then it was a dash over to The Roycroft Chapel for the ceremony. The rest of the night went by quickly… Geoff had a romantic video slideshow surprise prepared for Lauren, then they played the “Shoe Game” with printed faces of each other (both doing very well for the most part), and it was time for the real party to begin. I can’t say enough about how great Geoff and Lauren were to work with. Thank you for inviting me to be a part of your special day and I wish you both all the best for the future!
