I was blessed to spend this past weekend with a lovely couple, Adam and Kelly, as they celebrated their wedding at O’Brien’s Sleepy Hollow, East Aurora, NY. This quaint venue offered an idealic fall setting, nestled next to a quiet creek bed. As anyone from Western NY can tell you, the weather is a crap shoot during the fall. We got lucky. The leaves have all begun to change, but temps. were above average, so everyone was comfortable and carefree.   Adam, Kelly and their wedding party had one main request for the day – have fun. From the moment I arrived, that’s what we did.

I’ve had many Couples say their wedding day is a bit of a whirlwind, and by the end of the night, they can’t believe it’s already almost over. This is why my job is so important. For Adam and Kelly, their getting readies were separate, but each had prepared a surprise gift for the other. It’s at times like this that I begin to feel intrusive; but at the same time, the photographer in me knows that years from now, they’ll want a picture to remember the moment.

After a beautiful ceremony, and some quick family formals, it was time to get the party started! O’Brien’s offers a nice, semi-wooded expanse that I used for the wedding party photos. The guys wanted to toast the day with some champagne right away, but I thought it better to wait till the end of the pictures, just in case one or two of them got out of hand and drenched the girls….. I know, I’m a bit of a party pooper, but yes, it’s been done before, and nothings worse than a pissed off bride! Everyone was great sports and offered me an array of fun moments for Adam and Kelly to remember their special day. After a great dinner, the real party got started. From karaoke to dancing, the bridal party and guests entertained us all. We capped off the night with sparklers, and my time came to an end. Thank you to Adam and Kelly for a wonderful day and I wish you both the best for the future!
