Congratulations to Chris and Mary who celebrated their wedding this past weekend at Joseph’s Grove, Depew, NY. Fall had officially arrived but you’d never have guessed it. Even as we arrived for the getting readies the heat was upon us. I spent a bit of time with the girls at the hotel to get the ball rolling. Everyone was excited and anxious to get the day moving. Afterwards, I met up with the guys at St. Mary’s on the Hill in Lancaster, NY. As finishing touches were being made throughout the church, I managed to capture the traditional passing of the family tape measure from father to son. A lovely ceremony followed as well as family formals, and then it was my time with the bridal party. We took the short trip over to Como Lake Park, where I proceeded to really test everyone’s resolve in the sweltering heat. I have to say, they all passed my little test with flying colors! Usually, there are one or two within the bridal party that flat out give up, but everyone stayed strong and endured the pain. Joseph’s Grove was our final stop of the day, and the air conditioning was more than welcome. Mary’s father had a nice surprise in store for them after the first dance. He’d taken the time to learn guitar and prepare a song in remembrance of Mary’s late mother. Dinner and dancing followed along with some evening shots with the newlyweds, and before I knew it, my time was up. Congratulations again to Chris and Mary and thank you for allowing me to be a part of your special day. I wish you both all the best for the future!
