We began a lovely June day celebrating the wedding of Jake and Claire at St. Joseph’s Cathedral and The Country Club of Buffalo.  The Cathedral, founded by Buffalo’s first bishop, John Timon, in 1847, today, it is a spiritual center for Buffalo’s Catholic community.  We had the pleasure of working at this beautiful location many times over the years, and always look forward to celebrating with our Couples there.

We’ve known Jake and Claire for a couple years, as we also photographed her sister, Elyse’s wedding, in 2019.  As we worked our way thru the getting readies, it was so nice to catch up and find out how everyone was doing, especially given the craziness of 2020 and the Covid-19 pandemic.  Even though we knew everyone, it was still a pleasurable challenge to keep things fresh and new, ensuring Jake and Claire received not only the kind of photos they’d requested, but ones that we uniquely their own too.

After the beautiful ceremony at St. Joseph’s Cathedral, we took the wedding party over to The Country Club of Buffalo for the remainder of photos and the reception.  This was our first time at this venue, and it was great fun to explore the grounds and club house.  Originally founded in 1889, the Club’s first location was actually on the property of what is today the Buffalo History Museum.  The 1901 Pan American Exposition forced them to relocate, and after a couple more moves, they finally purchased the land they occupy now in 1923.  Since then, the Club has made a name for itself as a premier Golf Course.  There were actually many areas around the grounds I would have loved to explore, but time is never on my side.  I begrudgingly let Jake and Claire go to their guests and set about photographing all those great candid moments that weddings have to offer.

As always, day passed into night, and our time grew to a close.  Thank you again to Jake and Claire for inviting us to be a part of your event and we hope to celebrate many more moments with you and your family in the future!
