Congratulations to Chris and Megan who were married this past weekend at Hidden Valley Animal Adventure, Varysburg NY.  When I met with Chris and Megan last year, and they told me their wedding was going to be in Nov. and that they wanted an engagement session in Jan., I thought they were nuts.  For anyone who’s not from the Buffalo NY area, let me just say that our Fall/Winter weather can be unpredictable at best, but it’s almost always cold.  This past Jan. was exceptionally so.  I think the temperature during Chris and Megan’s engagement session was about 17 deg., and then you add in a wind chill and we’re talking single digits.  The fact that they were ok going outside in that kind of weather meant that no matter what happened on the day of their wedding, we’d be ok.  Well, their big day arrived, and sure enough…. It was cold; but Chris and Megan were prepared and on top of everything.  Leah showed up to the girls getting ready (and there were 9 attendants plus Megan and her parents), and everyone was done with hair and makeup.  This very rarely happens and is a sure sign that our day is going to work out just fine.  After some portraits, we all made our way over to Hidden Valley to get the day started.  This late in the year, I think it’s always a good idea to do a first look because sunset is so early.  The wind was blowing as Megan made her way to a nervous Chris, but she wanted to keep her shawl off so he could see the whole dress.  We quickly covered her up, though, and took the rest of the afternoon for creatives, bridal party and family formals.  Our ceremony was moved inside due to weather, but that made it all cozier and more intimate.  The rest of our night unfolded seamlessly.  Chris and Megan were wonderful and accommodating to all our requests for photos and it was a real pleasure being part of their special day.  We wish you both all the best for the future!
