Congratulations to David and Laura who were married this past weekend at The Gathering Barn at Akron Acres. This relatively new venue served as a beautiful backdrop for this intimate event. Rain clouds threatened the whole day, but for the most part never materialized, and actually gave us welcome shade. Leah and I began our day with the Guys getting ready, and then headed over to the Couple’s house to spend some time with the Girls. As Laura opened David’s gift to her, I was reminded of their proposal story. They’d planned a hiking trip to Asheville, NC. Instead of hiking, though, David took Laura to the cabin they’d stayed in previously. As she opened the door, Laura saw their picture on the fireplace and David proceeded to propose in the spot where they’d shared their first kiss… a very nice story. Our day progressed quickly, and after the ceremony, we explored a bit more of the property around Akron Acres with the whole Bridal Party. The weather was definitely making fun of us at this point, going back and forth between sprinkling rain and direct (very hot) sunshine. I spent a bit more time with David and Laura doing creative shots, before heading back to the venue for dinner. As the dance floor was opened, and the party began, day turned into night. Akron Acres really has done a nice job making the whole venue feel warm and cozy. It’s the little touches that make the difference, like a fire pit to sit around and large rocking chairs to relax in. Truly a wonderful day. Thank you again to David and Laura for inviting us to be a part of your special day. Leah and I wish you both all the best for the future!
