Congratulations to Andrew and Katie who were married this past weekend at The Foundry, Buffalo, NY. I first met the happy Couple last fall for their engagement session. We spent an amazing evening together exploring Como Park and getting to know each other. This really is the best way to “break the ice” so to speak and find a comfort zone with getting you picture taken. They currently live in Chicago, so it was a real treat to be able to have some one-on-one time before the Big Day, which arrived very quickly and brought a heat wave with it! Katie kept telling me it wasn’t a problem, that Chicago gets into the high 90’s all the time, but I was still worried we’d all melt. After the getting ready phase, we’d planned on 3 hours outside at the various parks in the city, and I did my best to keep the Bridal Party in the shade. Everyone did extremely well considering the circumstances, but I think the air conditioning of The Foundry was a welcome relief. Both ceremony and reception took place at The Foundry, and I particularly liked the uplighting in the ballroom. There was a brief worry that Katie’s amazing dress would catch fire on the candles, but crisis averted by some quick acting guests as she walked down the aisle. This was more of a vow renewal for Katie and Andrew, since they had officially married two weeks prior in Chicago. A beautiful celebration none-the-less. As we made our way into the dancing portion of the evening, Andrew’s family entertained us all with a bit of nice footwork and even a full split! Thank you again to Andrew and Katie for inviting us to take part in your special day! It’s been great getting to know you both over the last year and I wish you all the best for the future!
