Congratulations to JT and Pilar who were married this past weekend at the Avanti Mansion, Buffalo NY.  I first met this happy Couple two years ago as they began the arduous process of planning their wedding.  What I loved from the start are their kind hearts and sense of humor.  In fact, they both have rescued dogs needing a home, and I think that really says a lot about a persons’ character.  Leading up to the big day there were doubts about the weather (not uncommon here in Buffalo), but they both took it in stride.  We made our way through the afternoon, starting with JT’s getting ready downtown and then driving to Pilar for some time with the girls.  It was important to me to get to Avanti as early as we were allowed to try and take advantage of the beautiful gardens and rooms they have to offer.  I’ve photographed at Avanti many times, but this was my first wedding in the “Library” (which was the backup location in case of rain – which we had).  It’s an unusual space but a nice alternative to some other indoor ceremony locations I’ve encountered in the past.  After dinner, the lively first dances got people moving and grooving to the music.  The rain continued outside, but no one cared as they danced the night away.  As it always happens, our time quickly came to an end and we said our goodbyes.  Thank you to JT and Pilar, and their wonderful family and friends, for inviting us to spend the day with you.  We wish you all the best for the future!
