Jon & Alicia | Avanti Mansion Wedding

Congratulations to Jon and Alicia who were married this past weekend at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Tonawanda, with a reception following at Avanti Mansion in Buffalo, NY.  I had the pleasure of working with Jon and Alicia last year for their Engagement session, and I knew right away that their wedding day would be beautiful.  They’ve been friends since 4^th Grade, and this bond and dedication to one another was evident as we navigated the rigors of planning and executing a successful wedding day.  Leah and I began with their getting readies at the hotel.  Alicia and her Girls were spot on with their timing, which always is a good indication of how the rest of the day is going to run.  After a lovely ceremony at St. Francis, we were very close to Alicia’s house, so we made a quick stop to catch a pic with her dog, then we all headed to the Japanese Garden for creatives.  As luck would have it, the cherry trees were in bloom, and the sun came out just as we arrived, which made the unseasonably cold temps a little easier to handle.  I have to say, I thought the gardens would be deserted because of the cold.  They were not, of course.  In fact, there were four other bridal parties (a record for me even in the height of summer)!  Next, via an awesome trolley, we made our way to Avanti Mansion for the reception.  Alicia said she loves to dance, so this was the part of the day she was most looking forward to.  Both she and Jon kept the dance floor alive for several hours, before it was finally time to wind things down.  They planned sparklers to cap off the night and say their goodbyes.  Thank you again to Jon and Alicia for inviting us to be a part of your special day.  We wish you both all the best for the future!
